Chapter 4

Who's Next?
Endymion [Across the Narrow Sea, in Essos]
Portals are finicky things. Connecting two points in space-time is always tricky business. Opening a hole for access between them is even more so. And crossing into a completely different timeline? Might as well be playing darts while Blindfolded and standing 100ft from the board. Is it possible that nothing goes wrong? Could the greatest Darts Player in the world make such an impossible shot? Perhaps. But even for him, there's a fairly decent chance something gets fucked up along the way.
Such was the case for Endymion. An impossibly powerful wizard, capable of taking space-time and bending it in knots if he wanted. He'd actually done it once when Zoroa dared him. He kept it on one of his work desks. But sometimes even the experts do get it wrong.
Which is how Endymion, the Mighty Master of Magic came to be in the middle of what he soon discovered to be, a Dothraki Wedding.
It took all of three seconds for Endymion to have swords at his throat, precisely the same amount of time it took for the portal behind him to close.
"Oh, dammit," he sighs, "Rilliona, what in the world have you gotten me into?"
"What the bloody hell is this?!" a man shouts, his stark white hair and actual clothes setting him apart from the rest of the crowd.
"Addrivat jin qemmemmo mahrazh!" he heard some of them shout, the language unfamiliar to him. Fairly soon, most of them are joining in a repeating chorus of those words. Moments after that, it almost seems like a full-blown riot is about to be underway.
One of the men next to him grins and tries to kick at Endymion's legs to **** him down. However, the second he moves, Endymion's hand shoots towards him, and a wave of purple light and telekinetic **** rams into the man with the **** of a cannon, sending him flying over the edge of the nearby cliff. A silence grips the crowd, suffocating whatever it was they were saying.
At the same time, Endymion came to immediately regret his decision. As the spell finished, he could actually feel his power being drained. It made no sense. That trick cost almost nothing normally, but this time it felt almost like it had taken all he had in him. Gripping his staff tightly, he managed not to collapse from the sudden power loss, and turned to face the crowd.
"I feel like we have all gotten off on the wrong foot," he said cordially, "Would you all care to try again?"
